It was drama of the highest order at Fort Lauderdale as a befitting end befell the grand finale after a swashbuckling encounter which oscillated from one end to the other until the final ball of the game.
The New York Warriors were put into bat after the Texas Chargers won the toss. The Warriors could hardly put up any resistance as Ehsan Adil proved to be instrumental in his side’s exploits. It was Jonathan Carter who top scored for the Warriors with 39 from just 17 balls while Adil clinched three for 11.
Despite the early departure of Mukhtar Ahmed, Mohammad Hafeez played another impeccable knock of 46 from 17 while Ben Dunk gave him perfect company with a brilliant 20 from just 12 balls. However, once Dunk and Hafeez were back in the pavilion, there was a sudden collapse that saw the Chargers losing all their 10 wickets with the final one falling on the last ball of the innings, eventually forcing a super over.

With the first Super Over of the tournament coming in, Ben Dunk got off to a decent start but it was Mukhtar’s late flourish that allowed the Chargers to post 15/1. The Warriors found it hard in the super over with boundaries refusing to come by as Sohail Tanvir bowled an extremely tight line. Despite a six on the final ball of the over, Tanvir successfully fended off Jonathan Carter’s late charge as the Texas Chargers were crowned the champions of the inaugural edition of US Masters T10.
